UDZUNGWA MOUNTAIN HIKE (MWANIHANA ROUTE)

Hiking distance:12km

Hiking time: 7hours hike.

Arrival at Udzungwa Mountain Park gate for registration. After registration, we will drive to the starting point. Once we arrive, we will begin the hike to Mizimu Campsite. The hike may cover up to 6 km, with our first stop for lunch. Afterward, we will proceed to GMP, walking another 6 km. On the trail, be ready to spot bird species and animals, such as primates. We will arrive around evening, where we will begin setting up our tents for the camp, followed by dinner before a relaxing night.

Hiking time: 5hours hike.

After breakfast around 7:30, we will head to the Peak, embarking on a 7 km hike to the Mwanihana Peak, standing at an impressive 2500 meters with breathtaking views. The hike will take 5 hours to ascend and 3 hours to return. Throughout the journey, we may encounter primates such as monkeys, offering a unique opportunity to observe the rare monkey species indigenous to Udzungwa, along with various plants and reptiles.

Today we Descending down, there will be an opportunity to show appreciation by tipping the porters and guides if deemed necessary.
